Logan's Bear™ — In Loving Memory of Logan Mitchelson

2004 – 2024

Scotland's first PowerChair Football superstar. A life of determination, joy and love for the game.

Logan's Bear™ is our unique highland dance-themed gift created in memory of our son Logan Mitchelson — a young man whose determination, infectious smile and love of life touched everyone he met. Logan gained his angel wings in April 2024, and we miss him every single day.

Every purchase of Logan's Bear™ helps fund PowerChair Football events in his name, continuing the legacy of a remarkable young man who gave everything to his sport. for more information click here

Logan's Story

Logan was a happy and enthusiastic young man living with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy — a life-shortening, degenerative muscle-wasting condition affecting approximately 1 in 3,500 boys. Wheelchair-bound since the age of 10, Logan faced countless daily challenges that most of us take for granted. None of it stopped him. He went through life with a smile and took on every challenge with an unwavering determination to succeed.

His greatest joys were family, friends, his Xbox and football. His energy and enthusiasm were extraordinary — and in 2015, during a para-sport festival in Dundee, he discovered PowerChair Football and was instantly hooked.

An Extraordinary Football Career

In a career spanning less than 7 seasons, Logan became the only Scottish player to compete in and win the FA Disability Cup Final — and the only player to win every National League and Cup in Great Britain. He remains the only Scottish player ever to be awarded Man of the Match in any FA Cup in any football discipline.

The 2022 FA Disability Cup Final

Logan's most defining moment came in 2022 when he helped Northern Thunder defeat West Bromwich Albion in the FA Disability Cup Final, televised live on BT Sport. Playing in goal, Logan made 43 saves in 50 minutes. When the match went to penalties, he saved 3 from 4 to bring the cup home to Scotland — the first time the FA Cup had ever travelled north of Birmingham. He was named Man of the Match.

Logan remains the only Scottish player ever to be awarded Man of the Match in any of the FA Cups in any of the football disciplines.

West Bromwich Albion — and a legacy that lives on

In 2023, Logan joined West Bromwich Albion, one of the greatest PowerChair Football teams in the world, helping them to the top of the English Premiership. The love his teammates had for Logan was something truly special. Today, Logan's Bear is the club mascot at WBA, and every player wears a Logan armband in every match — ensuring Logan can continue playing his game with them forever.

Scotland has retired his number 2. West Bromwich Albion has retired his number 7. His name lives on in PowerChair Football forever.

Logan's Bear™ — The Gift

We have commissioned a special edition of Logan's Bear, complete with kilt, scarf and football — a unique highland dance-themed gift and keepsake dedicated to Logan's memory. One of our Tayfirth highland dancing competitions will be held in his name, and all funds raised will sponsor future PowerChair Football events in his honour.

Logan's Bear™ is the perfect gift for highland dancers, competition families, and anyone who wants to carry a little piece of Logan's spirit with them.

Thank you for helping to keep Logan's memory, love and passion alive.
